SMS Consent Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. SMS Communications

Omavant sends SMS text messages for appointment reminders and notifications related to consultative examination (CE) scheduling. These messages are operational in nature and directly related to scheduled medical appointments.

2. Types of Messages

  • Appointment reminders (48 hours, 24 hours, and 2 hours before scheduled appointments)
  • Appointment cancellation notifications
  • Schedule change notifications for providers

3. Message Content

SMS messages contain minimal information in compliance with HIPAA: case number, appointment date and time, office name and address. Messages do not include full names, diagnoses, provider names, or other sensitive health information.

4. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on appointment activity. Typical volume is 2-4 messages per appointment (confirmation + reminders). Messages are only sent for active, scheduled appointments.

5. Opt-Out

To stop receiving SMS messages, reply STOP to any message. You may also contact your scheduling office to update your notification preferences. Opting out of SMS does not affect your appointment status.

6. Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Omavant does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may charge standard messaging fees.

7. Privacy

Phone numbers are used solely for appointment-related communications. We do not sell, share, or use phone numbers for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
